Farrell and Trenton were the people who placed the request for more funding.
Dr. Kenneth Stoller, a psychiatrist with many affiliations in the Maryland medical community, indicated that many patients suffer from diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure. He said that physical issues often are ignored at other drug abuse treatment programs.
Stoller highlighted that when physical and mental health services are in the same treatment plan, the patients have a better chance of following through on their treatment. He also added that patients usually don’t have the best form of transportation available so going to doctor’s appointments can be problematic.
