Drug Detox in Saranac Lake Boosted by New York State Grants

agency in charge of coordinating addiction-related connections among New York State representatives and federal officials. It serves thousands of people, directly and indirectly, every year and has been providing grants to other addiction treatment facilities across the state of New York.

St. Joseph’s representatives stated that they are still waiting to receive additional state funding through OASAS. They are expecting to have updates on potential future investments within the next two months.

Ross explained that the additional grants would be going toward an outpatient addiction treatment facility and emphasized that these investments are “awarded based on need.”

He added that the new drug detox center will hopefully be accepting patients by the end of the year so expansions for outpatient addiction treatment services can be prioritized.
