Portland Fails to Focus on Substance Abuse Treatment Programs

there are plenty of shortcomings when it comes to addressing substance abuse in Oregon, particularly in Portland, and brought public attention to the lack of progress made by the 10-year-old commission.

This pushed local leaders to move toward making official moved that can improve local addiction treatment services, and a newly introduced bill is going to require the Alcohol and Drug Policy Commission to set a deadline for an official plan to be delivered.

Tawna Sanchez – a member of the Oregon House of Representatives covering areas of north-central Portland – affirmed she will be pressuring legislators to draft a comprehensive plan to improve how substance use disorders are handled in the area this year.
