Santa Fe mayor assembles Municipal Drug Strategy Task Force

a series of public focus groups across the city, in order to better understand how addiction is affecting various communities and determine which strategies will be most effective in alleviating their struggles.

While the opioid overdose death rate is a serious concern, the task force will be examining all substances. In 2016, there were 45 deaths in Santa Fe which involved drug overdose, meaning that overdose death rates now exceed the number of traffic fatalities per year in the city.
