legally produced and available in America. Consequently, unsuspecting users who may be taking their regular medications may find themselves succumbing to an overdose as a result of the increased potency of the synthetic substance.

While cracking down on the production of synthetic opioids in China may prevent the flow of these substances in America, Secretary Price announced the formation of the Pain Management Best Practices Inter-Agency Task Force, which will continue to the battle against addiction domestically.

The task force will gather individuals from different federal agencies and from a variety of backgrounds, including the field of addiction recovery treatment, in order to further address the ongoing substance use disorder epidemic in the country.
